Gujarat is determined to make over one-lakh skilled youths under Chief Minister Apprentice Scheme before March-2019

Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today announced that with a view to provide employment to youths of Gujarat, the state government has taken a decision that any industry, including service sector, setup in Gujarat must absorb 80 per cent Gujaratis as its employees, of which 25 per cent employment must be given to local residents.

In the coming days, the government is moving in the direction to give it legal formation, he added.

Speaking at a function held to inaugurate the newly constructed A.B. C. Bhawan at a cost of Rs. 20-Crore in Ahmedabad, Mr. Rupani handed-over contract agreements to 8,500 youths under the Chief Minister Apprenticeship Scheme (CMAS).

To fulfill the pledges made under the campaigns like Make in India, Skill India, and Digital India by the Prime Minister, Gujarat is going to make over one-lakh skilled youths under the CMAS before March-2019, Mr. Rupani acclaimed.

Criticizing the Congress Party, Mr. Rupani said, it (Congress) had given slogans like “Garibi Hatao” (Eradicate Poverty), but, it never planned either to eradicate poverty or providing employments to youths.

Not even sparing the first Prime Minister of India Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru (of Congress) from his criticisms, Chief Minister said that though he (Mr. Nehru) gave slogan of “Aram Haram Hai” but failed to provide employment to youths. The nation had remained directionless because the Congress was lacking proper policies, leaders, and intentions. In contrast to these, Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi’s strong leadership, clear intentions and policies have increased the credibility of India.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Gujarat Minister of State for Home Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja, Ahmedabad District Collector Dr. Vikrant Pandey and others.

The function was also graced by MLAs, Additional Chief Secretary (Labour and Employment Department) Mr. Vipul Mitra, Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) Mr. A. M. Tiwari, and others.
