Union Home Minister flags off 8 electric buses in Ahmedabad

Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah marked his presence in the valedictory ceremony of the Mission Million Trees Program organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in the presence of Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitin Patel.

During the event, Mr. Shah flagged off 8 electric buses in a step towards ensuring a pollution free environment. During the event, Mr. Shah said, “India has welcomed the decision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to combat climate change. India , under Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, has shown the world a path towards combating Global Warming. The Ministry of Jal Shakti , formed under the second term of the Mr. Modi led government is leading by an example in water conservation, irrigation facilities, waste water management etc.”

The Home Minister urged the people to respect and care for Mother Earth and plant more and more trees. Prime Minister Mr. Modi made a special mention, in his Independence Day speech this year, of the women force in Ahmedabad to help him fulfil the mission of a Plastic Free India.

Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani affirmed that Gujarat will once again lead from the front in abiding by the Prime Minister’s call to accelerate the use of electric vehicles. Mr. Rupani urged people to use CNG pumps to decrease the level of pollution and plant more and more trees. He added that the state government will take measures to encourage the use of electric vehicles for a pollution free environment. He expressed with utmost pride that Gujarat is the first state in India to start the use of the E-Bus under the Make in India project.

Several senior ministers from the state government like Mr. R.C Faldu, Mr. Pradeepsinh Jadeja, MLAs and senior officers were present during the event.
