Guj CM Shri Vijaybhai Rupani flagged-off Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express

Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani today flagged off second private train of the country “Tejas Express” from Ahmedabad. On this occasion, Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi initiated 360 degree transformation of Railways by bringing the railway out of the traditional structure in a timely manner. The Prime Minister is determined to take the Indian Railways forward on the Global Transport Map. Since Shri Narendrabhai Modi became Prime Minister, India has achieved a new pace of development in all fields. The Prime Minister has linked the development of railways with the development of India, he added. In this regard, Chief Minister, with the beginning of Tejas express train, Indian Railways has initiated to be word class and modern on public private partnership mode. On this occasion CM said it’s a glorious moment for Gujarat to get Fist Tejas Express in any Western state of India.

The Chief Minister further said that with the launch of this train service, travelers from business centers like Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat and Vapi in Gujarat have got one more convenient option to travel. Especially the business class travelers will get very good facilities. With the changing times, the IRCTC has also expanded its business into a new field.

CM also added, since 2014, Gujarat witnessed continuous increase in rail connectivity and infrastructure. Total number of 118 trains have been started in Gujarat since 2014. It also includes trains that start from Gujarat and pass through Gujarat.

On this occasion Railway Board Chairman Shri. V.K. Yadav, Ahmedabad Mayor Smt. Bijalben Patel, MPs, MLAs and railway officials remained present.

It is worth mentioning here that Tejas Express, which runs between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, will run 6 days a week except Thursday. The Tejas train is equipped with modern technology. An LED screen has been placed on all 56 seats of the Executive Coach. Along with this, auto sensor dustbin, CCTV, fire safety facilities have also been provided. Onboard shopping will also be available. The Tejas Express train will depart from Ahmedabad at 6.40 am and reach Mumbai Central at 1.55 pm. While it will depart from Mumbai Central at 3.40 pm and reach Ahmedabad at 9.55 pm. It will cover one way travel In an estimated 6 hours with the top speed of 160 km per hour.
